We are thrilled to welcome 3 new permanent staff members to SAIS Library this year:
Faith Hamby, a new Circulation/Reference Specialist, worked as a student assistant in her undergraduate college, Marquette University. After graduation, she worked full time for over two years in circulation / reserves at College of Dupage Library in Illinois. She has an M.A. in writing and a year of experience teaching English, but wanted to get back into library work.
Keigh Hammond, our other new Circulation/Reference Specialist, has a B.A. degree in Religion and Russian from Wellesley, where she worked as a student assistant in the Library. Keigh recently moved to the DC area, following a year as a Fulbright fellow in Estonia.
Emily Robinson joined the staff in July to work with us on ERes, acquisitions, and the Circulation Desk. She is a graduate of William and Mary, where she worked most of her undergraduate life in the Film Library. Emily recently spent a year in Edinburgh, Scotland doing a Master's degree.
With every arrival there is usually a departure and this summer we said goodbye to three employees: Matt Dippold left us for development work in Benin, West Africa; Anne Doss started a new job in the federal government; and Erika McCoy is now managing a library as the School Media Specialist for an elementary school in Arlington, VA. We'll miss them!
